The reconstruction of Masaryk station has officially started!

19.01.2024

Last week, the next and principal stage of the entire project - the reconstruction of Masaryk railway station in Prague - was ceremonially launched. Masaryk station, which is the oldest rail station in the czech metropolis, is preparing for a spectacular transformation.

The new look of Masaryčka includes many significant changes, including the construction of two new tracks on the north side for the future expressway from the airport. In several stages, the entire platform will be transformed and a roof connected to the second floor of the new Masaryčka offices will be built. This platform will connect Florenc with Hybernská Street and Zaha Hadid's office buildings with the main station.

This means better accessibility and comfort for all passengers and visitors. A new vestibule and a rest area with a park will also be added to Masaryčka. There will be a place to relax and unwind surrounded by greenery and with plenty of seating. And even if it's cold during the winter months and nobody can be found sitting on the terrace, one can still enjoy the breathtaking views and beautiful sunsets. Masaryčka will also receive modern lighting and radio, which will be powered by energy from photovoltaic cells on the roof of the platform. The green elements will be watered with collected rainwater, which will contribute to the sustainability of the entire space.

The revitalization of Masaryk railway station, which is to be completed in 2027 and will cost 3.4 billion czech crowns, is a significant step towards the overall  modernization and improvement of the neglected railway station area in the very center of Prague. We believe that it will become not only an important transport hub, but also a popular place for meetings and relax.

Stay with us and watch Masaryčka come to life!
